Kinga is a final year economics student at the University of Warwick and an educational resources intern here at Discover Economics.

Why did you choose to study economics?

In school, I couldn’t decide what career I wanted to pursue in the future. I chose Economics as it allowed me to develop transferable skills that can be applied in various sectors, industries and organisations.

How would you describe economics?

Economics is the social science that explores how individuals, businesses, and governments allocate limited resources to meet unlimited wants and needs.

If you had a time machine and could meet your 16-year-old self, what advice would you give them?

Try to find a balance in what you do. You can do great things and have time for yourself!

What is your favourite part of economics?

The wide range of subjects that economics can be applied to!
At university it was reflected by multiple modules to choose from such as environmental economics or industrial economics.

Is there anything you would do differently if you had the chance?

I don't think I would change anything as I feel that each experience, regardless of whether it was positive or negative, has contributed to my growth and development in some way.
