Young Economist of the Year 2024
sponsored by KPMG UK AND FT SCHOOLS
We were overwhelmed by the quantity and quality of the submissions this year. With over 2,700 students getting involved in the competition, it was our biggest year to date! We had many fantastic entries, and it took us weeks to carefully examine them all and select our worthy finalists and commended entries.
Our five amazing finalists presented their research at the KPMG offices in Canary Wharf in October. They were assessed by a panel of judges from a range of industries including journalism, broadcasting, research and the corporate world. Furthermore, the finalists have been offered the amazing opportunity to tour HM Treasury and Number 10 and 11 Downing Street! The worthy winners were named as Harriet Turnbull, Medha Kumar and Neha Sathishkanna from The Tiffin Girls' School. Click here to read more about the final itself. Scroll down to see some photos from the final and Downing Street.
Please see below for our finalists, as well as the 20 'commended' submissions that particularly impressed our panel of experts. Furthermore, we are delighted to announce the winner of our first ever "Welsh Award", in partnership with the Welsh government. Thank you for your submissions - we hope to see you again next year!
